Your union is holding its April Vacancy Elections to fill vacant Executive Board and Joint Council positions. The election will take place on April 2-3, 2020.
An invitation to a secret and secure ballot will be sent to you from a secure online voting platform, Simply Voting (vote@simplyvoting.com), on Thursday April 2nd, 2020. Voting will close at 11:59 PM on Friday April 3rd, 2020. Due to conditions around COVID-19 and the state-mandated shelter-in-place, this election will be held entirely online. You can view a list of those who have accepted nominations for contested elections, candidate statements, as well as the results of uncontested elections, below or here.
We understand that there are questions about how the electronic voting system will work, since this we are adapting to COVID-19 conditions. Our Elections Committee has created a guide to our online election process here.
Some members have opted out of union communications by unsubscribing from our email list. In order for us to send them a ballot, they need to re-subscribe to our communications. They can do so using this form (https://forms.gle/kDZSeKqhj5FHFTkL8). We will be making efforts to spread this information as widely as we can through social media. Please share this with your fellow academic workers.
If you encounter issues during the election i.e. you did not get an invitation to your ballot or you have trouble logging into the ballot—please call our phone hotline. Our Elections Committee and UAW 2865 data team will staff an elections hotline between 9 AM and 6 PM, Pacific Daylight Time (GMT -7) on April 2nd and 3rd, 2020. This hotline replicates the in-person elections process that would normally take place.
