3. Get involved in the plan to win

Join the fight against austerity

UAW 2865 is one of the largest public sector unions in California, representing over 19,000 workers across the state. Given our numbers and occupation as public sector education workers, TAs, Tutors, and Readers at the UC are in a position to organize and win demands that benefit not just our bargaining unit, but the wider community as a whole.

How can you participate in your union to fight for students, workers, and the public during this crisis?

Get Involved in the fight

Student workers can win this fight against austerity and for public education, a just recovery, and a UC for all only if everyone joins in together. To get involved in the fight:

  1. Ratify the framework for a just recovery by signing the pledge to fight for the public
  2. Sign up to get together to call union members and voters in support of 2020 ballot measures and local elections
  3. Attend campaign events to learn more about the fight

Also, if you aren’t already a dues-paying union member, sign up to join the majority. To build the kind of worker power necessary to win a truly public UC for all, it’ll take each and every Academic Student Worker across the university actively participating in union organizing.

Fight for the public campaign events

Let’s get together to organize your coworkers, talk to voters about important political races, and attend events to learn about how student-workers can fight austerity.

Nothing from January 20, 2021 to February 20, 2021.
